Therapists at Foundry approach sex therapy from a non-shaming, non-judgmental, esteem-building perspective. Sexual health is self-defined and explored through a collaborative process with your therapist.
Generally, sex therapy focuses treatment on sexual problems, sexual feelings, intimacy and sexual functions. Specifically, sex therapy can address low sexual desire and arousal problems, sexual dysfunction, both male and female sexual dysfunctions, including rapid ejaculation, vaginismus, painful intercourse, and other problems related to sexual performance.
Sex therapy can be engaged either as individual or couples therapy or used as a resource for adults of any age or sexual orientation in order to develop a more comprehensive and healthy view of sexuality. Therapists at Foundry have special training related to sex and relationships, including Certified Sex Therapist (CST) credentialed by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). Sex therapy does not involve any sexual contact with clients in any capacity and instead is focused through traditional talk therapy or other modalities that are appropriate for reaching your goals.
